"Checking ocean water quality should be as easy as checking the weather."
— Max, Founder of Project Neptune
Our Story:
Our founder, Max, nearly died from a staph infection contracted while surfing. He had no way of knowing the water that day was dangerous — because the data that existed was already days old.
That experience sparked a mission: build the infrastructure that ocean-goers, city health departments, and public works teams need to make safe, informed decisions — every single day.
Project Neptune isn’t just a dashboard. It’s a new standard for how cities protect their coastlines and the people who love them.
Our founder, Max, nearly died from a staph infection he contracted while surfing. Now he is driven to prevent others from getting sick from the ocean, something that affects 7 plus million people each year in the US.
Our Vision
At Project Neptune, we envision a world where checking the ocean water quality before going in will be like checking the weather before getting dressed.
Our Mission
To put ourselves out of business by identifying water quality patterns and eliminating pollution at its source.
